Meet Kathryn. When Kathryn Neal Odell started her career in sales, she was a combination branch manager and outside salesperson for a national staffing firm. Her VP told her to drive around her territory, pull up to each high-rise building, walk right in, introduce herself to each company receptionist and then ask to talk to the head of HR. Of course, all of that changed with the advent of technology and advanced building security.
The nature of sales has continued to change dramatically since then. After several years in sales and sales management, Kathryn started Sales-Onsite in 2003. Her mission was to provide an affordable, personal lead generation and business development program exclusively for small and mid-sized B2B firms – and to keep on top of the latest tools and approaches needed for successful selling.
To maintain this as an affordable and personal solution, she keeps her firm small by design. Her objective is for each client to be a “big fish in a small pond.”
Kathryn has a 20-year background in sales, operations and HR for Fortune 500 companies like Moore/Wallace (now RR Donnelley), Quest Diagnostics and Manpower – and for regional staffing firms and a technology start-up.
She is an active member of the Chicago chapter of the Business Marketing Association where she moderated a panel on the challenge of B2B client and marketing agency relationships and was recognized as new member of the year.
